This year we invited our listeners and exhibitors to the Cité Du Design in Saint-Etienne, which organized La Biennale du Design from March 21st to April 22nd.

We invited exhibitors to a visit that brought them closer to our business linking innovations and materials. We were not talking about Titanium or Cobalt-Chrome of course, or PEEK or resorbable, but we forgot about our activity and opened ourselves to the world!

At the end of this initiatory journey of the field of art, we returned to Earth for a meal and a convivial evening during which we continued our exchanges.

MATERIAL COURSES

THE MATERIAUTHEQUE
For the biennale Internationale Design 2019, the material library opened its doors to create a living showcase for its materials.
An immersive experience in collaboration with ENISE, ESADSE, Ecodesign and Mines Saint-Etienne.
PLATINE, Laboratory living was transformed for a month into a place of meetings, experimentation and co creation.
Sometimes starting point of a creative project, sometimes later choice resulting from the needs expressed in a specification, the materials are an inexhaustible source of innovations.
We divided these materials into 4 categories:
1) Sensitive materials, using the 5 senses.
2) The materials from here and China, combining the know-how of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region and China.
3) Future materials, bringing together environmentally friendly materials.
4) Unusual materials offering original properties.
The materials are everywhere around us. They constitute a capital stake of the current problematic of the preservation of our planet. However, the culture of materials remains a topic exclusively known by the trades of industrial, creative and research circles.
This event gave the opportunity to bring the material out of factories and our windows by offering the general public a playful and interactive experience.
